Mobile Car Battery Replacement
In order for your car to work properly, it needs a fully charged battery. This is what starts the engine and allows your car to get moving. Over time, batteries lose their charge and need to be replaced. Here is everything you need to know about mobile car battery replacement services.
Battery Replacement for your car? We help you Identify if it’s time
You depend on your car, and your car depends on you. Taking care of your car by performing some simple maintenance tasks will help keep it running newer, longer.
A battery is a key part of any vehicle. It plays an important role in starting the engine, powering the lights and accessories, and keeping the electrical system charged when your vehicle is idle for long periods or off.
The average battery life is three to five years, depending on the quality of the battery and driving conditions. If you live in a warm climate where you can drive year-round with little need to run heaters or defrosters, the battery will last longer than it will in a colder climate where you rely on those accessories often.
So how do you know when it’s time for a new one? Here are four signs that could indicate it’s time for a replacement:
1. Your battery is more than three years old. If you don’t know how old your battery is, take note of its age when you have it tested next time.
2. You’re experiencing trouble starting your vehicle. If you notice that it takes longer to get your car started or if it doesn’t start at all, especially if this happens on a cold morning, you’ll want to take it in for service as soon as possible.
3. Your car is stalling when you come to a stop. If you notice that your car stalls when you’re at a stop sign or red light, that could be caused by the computer in your engine needing to be reprogrammed.
4. Your vehicle has trouble accelerating or decelerating. These are issues with the transmission and can be costly to fix if they’re not addressed right away. Acceleration issues are usually due to low transmission fluid while deceleration problems indicate more major repairs will be necessary on your transmission.
Do You Need to Replace Your Car Battery?
You’re driving to work, minding your own business, when all of a sudden the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. The battery light is shining bright, letting you know something is wrong. You can’t help but ask yourself, “Do I need to replace my car battery?”
The answer to that question isn’t always simple. To help you figure it out, let’s take a look at some of the most common symptoms that indicate a bad car battery:
If your car’s interior lights are dimming and your audio system is cutting in and out, it could be because of an aging battery or corroded terminals.
If your car won’t start or starts very slowly, this could mean you have a dead battery. If the engine turns over slowly or doesn’t turn over at all, you should have your battery tested by an auto technician.
If the check engine light comes on while you’re driving, this can mean the battery isn’t holding a charge properly. This can be caused by a faulty alternator belt.
If you notice any of these symptoms happening to your vehicle, make sure to have it checked out as soon as possible so that any further damage can be prevented.
What is CCA? Why You Should Care
You might not know what CCA is or why it’s important, but you definitely need to know how to read your car battery’s capacity.
When you buy a new battery for your car, it often has the letters CCA on it. CCA stands for “cold cranking amps” and it refers to the amount of current (measured in amperes) that a battery can deliver at 0 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 seconds while maintaining at least 1.2 volts per cell.
A higher CCA means your battery will be better able to start up your vehicle in cold weather. As we all know, the colder the weather, the harder it is for your engine to get going because oil thickens and some of the metal parts rub together more slowly.
